Alex Iwobi: I have no regrets choosing Nigeria

Nigeria International Alex Iwobi has expressed pride in his international journey, insisting he has no regrets about committing his future to the Super Eagles as he prepares to reach a major career milestone.

The experienced midfielder is set to make a landmark appearance for Nigeria when the Super Eagles face Portugal in an international friendly on Wednesday, becoming one of the few players to achieve the feat for the three-time African champions.

Reflecting on his journey with the national team, Iwobi said representing Nigeria remains one of the proudest decisions of his career.

“I am proud to be where I am today; proud to wear the green-and-white. I am grateful to everyone, including the coach who called me up to the team for the first time. I have no regrets choosing Nigeria,” Iwobi told the Nigeria Football Federation.

Having made his debut more than a decade ago, the former Everton player has grown into one of the Super Eagles’ most influential figures, featuring in major international tournaments and playing a key role in the team’s midfield.

Iwobi’s anticipated milestone appearance against Portugal will further cement his place among Nigeria’s most enduring and respected internationals, underlining his commitment and long-standing service to the national team.
