Albert Hilary: Nigerian forward joins Karaoglanoglu on free transfer from Plateau United
Nigerian centre-forward Albert Hilary has joined Karaoglanoglu on a free transfer from Plateau United, completing a move that takes the 20-year-old out of the Nigeria Premier Football League and into Cypriot football.
Hilary makes the switch after his spell with Plateau United, where he developed his reputation in the NPFL and earned his first move abroad. The deal sees him leave the Nigerian top flight for Karaoglanoglu, who have moved to strengthen their attacking options by bringing in the young striker without a transfer fee.
Primarily a centre-forward, Hilary adds a direct option through the middle for his new club and arrives at an age where he can adapt to a different style of football and environment. His transition from domestic Nigerian football to a European league marks a significant step in his career progression.
Karaoglanoglu will look to integrate the Nigerian into their squad quickly following the completion of the transfer on 27 July 2026. The move finalises Hilary’s departure from Plateau United and confirms his first professional contract outside Nigeria.
