Albacete consider move for former Barcelona winger Munir El Haddadi
Morocco and Spain international Munir El Haddadi, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Spanish second-tier side Albacete.
The 30-year-old right winger became a free agent after leaving Iranian club Esteghlal on 14 July, having joined them from CD Leganes in September 2025. Albacete are the club named in connection with a potential move, with the proposed destination being LaLiga2.
Munir, who prefers his left foot, has spent most of his career in Spain and has made 267 LaLiga appearances, scoring 47 goals and providing 21 assists. His Spanish top-flight experience includes spells with Barcelona, Valencia, Alaves, Sevilla, Getafe, Las Palmas and Leganes.
He began his senior career at Barcelona and won the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and Spanish league title during his time with the Catalan club. He also lifted the Europa League with Sevilla in 2020.
Munir’s most recent Spanish club was Leganes, whom he joined from Las Palmas in August 2024. He left after the club’s relegation from the top flight in the 2024-25 season before moving to Esteghlal.
The forward is valued at €1.5m and is currently without a club. No agreement with Albacete has been confirmed, but the reported interest would represent a possible return to Spanish football for a player with extensive LaLiga experience.
