It seems that Alaixys Romao, the Togolese midfielder playing for Lorient and the Togo national team (Eperviers), has prepared something special for the African Cup of Nations (CAN). Just like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s flashy and bling-bling shoes for the Lyon-Saint-Etienne derby, Romao’s customized shoes are expected to catch the eye during the tournament.
Romao’s shoes are not only stylish but also personalized with special features. There are two pairs, each with its unique design. The first pair is black, displaying the player’s name on the sides and featuring Swarovski stones on the heels against a background of the Togolese flag. The second pair is neon green with black and red patterns, and it includes the names of Romao’s two children along with Swarovski stones on the heels.
These custom-made shoes are not just a fashion statement; they come with a price tag of more than 1,200 euros (over 800,000 CFA francs). Interestingly, they were made by the same house that crafted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s shoes.
As Romao prepares to showcase his unique footwear at the CAN, the focus remains on utilizing them for a more significant purpose – bringing victories to Togo. It adds a touch of individuality and personal flair to the competition, emphasizing the players’ pride in representing their nation on the football stage.
