The new Marseille player, Alaixys Romao, expressed his disappointment after Togo’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). Romao shared his feelings in the mixed zone, saying, “Big disappointment for us. We were keen to continue what we were doing well. Now it’s football, we’re going to find our clubs, that’s all. I think we lacked a little more offensive energy this evening. Burkina were playing 4 at the back with two 6s, so we had to put a little more weight in front but we couldn’t do it. Unfortunately, in overtime they scored us a goal. We suffered more than anything else. I sincerely think that we could have done better and that’s what’s a shame.”
