Al-Wasl bring in Senegal goalkeeper Malick Sarr on long-term deal
Senegal goalkeeper Malick Sarr has joined Al-Wasl from AJEL Rufisque, completing a move from Senegal’s Ligue 1 to the UAE Pro League.
Sarr, 18, has signed a contract with the United Arab Emirates club that runs until 30 June 2029. The goalkeeper’s move was completed on 4 August 2026, marking his first recorded switch to a club outside Senegal.
Standing at 2.02m, Sarr arrives at Al-Wasl after representing AJEL Rufisque. He was born on 27 December 2007 and is listed as a goalkeeper, the position in which he has established his playing career.
The transfer takes Sarr from AJEL Rufisque’s domestic environment into Al-Wasl’s squad in the UAE Pro League. Al-Wasl, based in the United Arab Emirates, will now hold his registration through the end of the 2028-29 season.
Sarr’s arrival also maintains a clear link with Senegalese football, with the teenager moving directly from a club in the country’s top-flight competition. His nationality and previous experience at AJEL Rufisque provide the main background to his switch to the Gulf region.
The deal was completed on 4 August, with Sarr joining Al-Wasl under a contract lasting nearly three years.
