Al-Taawoun capture Abderrazak Hamdallah

Al-Taawoun FC have announced the signing of Moroccan forward Abderrazak Hamdallah on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Al-Shabab FC.

The Saudi Pro League outfit moved quickly to secure the services of the veteran forward as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of a demanding campaign that includes participation in the Saudi Pro League, the King’s Cup and the AFC Champions League.

Hamdallah arrives with a proven goalscoring pedigree and vast experience in Saudi football, having established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the history of the competition.

The 35-year-old is also closing in on a major individual milestone as he aims to become the Saudi Pro League’s all-time leading scorer. The Moroccan currently has 156 league goals and is just six behind Syrian striker Omar Al Somah, who holds the record with 162 goals.

The move represents another significant step in Hamdallah’s remarkable career in Saudi Arabia, where he has enjoyed successful spells with clubs including Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Shabab.

During his time with Al-Shabab, Hamdallah remained a key figure in attack, making 45 appearances across all competitions and scoring 31 goals to underline his enduring quality in front of goal.

Al-Taawoun will now hope the Moroccan star can deliver the firepower needed to challenge strongly on both the domestic and continental stage next season.
