Al-Swehly open talks to sign Zambia winger Lameck Banda

Libyan champions Al-Swehly have opened negotiations with Lecce winger and Zambia international Lameck Banda over a potential transfer.

The Libyan club, who were crowned champions last season, are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their participation in the CAF Champions League.

Banda has emerged as a target, with discussions now underway between the two sides over a possible move for the 25-year-old.

The talks are at an early stage and no agreement has yet been reached, but Al-Swehly are understood to be keen to secure the services of the Zambian winger.

Banda has established himself as one of Zambia’s leading attacking players and has spent the past few seasons in Italian football with Lecce. His pace, direct running and ability to operate in wide attacking positions have made him an attractive option for clubs looking to add attacking quality.

A move to Al-Swehly would represent a new chapter in Banda’s career and would also give him the opportunity to compete in Africa’s premier club competition.

Al-Swehly’s status as Libyan champions means they will represent the country in the CAF Champions League this season, increasing the appeal of the proposed transfer.
