Al Shabab are trying to secure Hammam Al-Hamami’s future after Al Hilal emerged as a potential destination for the Saudi winger.
Reports in Saudi Arabia say Al Hilal are interested in signing the 22-year-old following his outstanding performances for Saudi Arabia at the Arab Gulf Cup, Gulf 27.
Thmanyah, the broadcaster of the Roshn Saudi League, reported that Al Shabab had offered Al-Hamami’s representatives an annual salary of more than 10 million Saudi riyals to extend his contract.
The proposal was made before the Gulf tournament, but Al-Hamami did not accept it at the time. The two parties have yet to reach an agreement over a new deal.
In a report published on 22 October 2026, Thmanyah described the situation surrounding Al Shabab’s renewal efforts while previewing the club’s match against Al Fateh.
“Someone may heal their wounds at the expense of the other. That is the headline for the Al Fateh and Al Shabab match. Al Fateh regain Zaido Yusuf, amid calls from supporters to attend and back a team that have not won at home this season.
“At Al Shabab, the renewal of Hammam Al-Hamami’s contract is occupying the club’s supporters after an offer worth 10 million annually was made, without an agreement being reached…”
Al-Hamami’s current contract with Al Shabab expires in August. According to the Saudi broadcaster, that would leave him only two months away from entering the free-agent period, when he could sign for another club without a transfer fee.
The winger enhanced his reputation at Gulf 27, scoring in the final against United Arab Emirates. He was also named the tournament’s best player.
His displays have since led to reports linking him with a move to Al Hilal, while Al Shabab are understood to be making renewed efforts to keep him at the club.
Al-Hamami has made eight appearances for Al Shabab since the start of the current season. He has scored once and has not provided an assist.
However, he has not played since the conclusion of the Gulf tournament because of an injury.
