Al-Qadisiyah target Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez after Al-Ahli departure

Al-Qadisiyah have reportedly opened talks over a move for Algeria star Riyad Mahrez following the winger’s departure from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

According to reports cited by Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq, Al-Qadisiyah have begun enquiring about Mahrez’s availability as they consider submitting an official offer for the free agent.

The club are said to be assessing the financial aspects of a potential deal before deciding whether to proceed with negotiations.

Experienced winger a priority target

Mahrez has reportedly emerged as one of Al-Qadisiyah’s leading targets as they seek to strengthen the right side of their attack ahead of the new season.

The Algerian international’s wealth of experience, gained during successful spells with Leicester City, Manchester City and Al-Ahli, is believed to have made him an attractive option for the Saudi club.

The 35-year-old is currently considering several offers following the end of his time with Al-Ahli and is expected to decide on his next destination in the coming days.
