Al Nassr seek financial breathing space by sending Ali Al Hassan to Al Fateh

Al Nassr are preparing to loan midfielder Ali Al Hassan to Al Fateh as the Saudi club attempt to ease financial pressure and create room within their squad budget.

The proposed move, reported by Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, would see Al Fateh take full responsibility for Al Hassan’s wages for the duration of the loan. The arrangement is part of an effort by Al Nassr’s management to reduce the club’s financial burden during the current transfer window.

Al Hassan is regarded as one of the team’s key midfielders, but his temporary departure is being considered as the club tries to comply with strict financial controls. Those restrictions have limited Al Nassr’s ability to operate freely in the transfer market and have increased the pressure on the club to manage its wage commitments carefully.

The loan would also help Al Nassr make space to register Abdulrahman Ghareeb and Raghid Al-Najjar within the club’s budget. It is intended to offset part of the financial obligations currently facing the club while allowing the two players to be included in the squad.

The decision represents a significant change in Al Nassr’s planning, with the club prepared to sacrifice the short-term availability of an important midfielder in order to address its wider financial situation. The move remains part of the current transfer-window activity, with the final details expected to determine whether Al Hassan joins Al Fateh on a temporary basis.

There was more encouraging news for Al Nassr’s coaching staff on Wednesday, however, when goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi returned to full team training.

Al-Aqidi’s participation has raised hopes that he will be ready to start in goal for Al Nassr’s forthcoming match against Al Taawoun on Friday. His return provides a boost to the coaching staff as they prepare for the fixture, although his availability has not yet been confirmed.

The goalkeeper was not the only player to return to training. France defender Mohamed Simakan also took part in the session after recovering from injury, putting both players in contention for a place in the squad.

Al-Aqidi and Simakan are expected to undergo decisive physical and medical assessments during Thursday’s training session. Those tests will be used to determine whether either player is fit enough to feature in the match against Al Taawoun.

The final decision on their involvement will be made after the club reviews the results of those examinations.
