Al Mokawloon continued their unbeaten run with a 3-0 victory over El Sharqia Enppi in matchweek seven of the Egyptian Premier League.
Idrissa Thiam scored twice for the Mountain Wolves, while Shady Hussein added the third as Al Mokawloon extended their positive sequence to five matches.
The result leaves Al Mokawloon with 11 points in seventh place after three wins and two draws in their last five league games.
El Sharqia Enppi, meanwhile, suffered a third consecutive defeat and remain 17th in the table on four points.
Al Mokawloon thought they had taken an early lead when Joakim Ojera found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
They did not have to wait long for a valid opener. In the 11th minute, Hassan Shakoush delivered a cross which evaded the players in the area before Thiam met it and fired into the net.
The Mauritanian international doubled the advantage 11 minutes into the second half. A poor defensive clearance fell to Thiam, who took advantage to score his second of the match and make it 2-0 in the 56th minute.
The brace took Thiam’s league tally to four goals, placing him second in the scoring charts alongside Salah Mohsen.
El Sharqia Enppi were unable to mount a response, and Al Mokawloon added a third with eight minutes of normal time remaining.
Substitute Shady Hussein collected a long pass near the edge of the penalty area and, with one touch, sent a low shot into the net to settle the match.
It was Hussein’s second consecutive game on the scoresheet for Al Mokawloon. He had previously scored twice in their Egypt Capital Cup match against El Gouna.
