Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC battle to hold Tala’ea El Gaish in Cairo
Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC fought with determination to secure a hard-earned point against Tala’ea El Gaish in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday evening at the Military Sports Authority Stadium.
The goalless encounter showed grit and resilience from both sides, with late drama adding to the tense finish.
In stoppage time, the hosts thought they had sealed victory when Togolese forward Ismaël Ogoro struck in the 90+8th minute. Celebrations were cut short as the referee reviewed the goal using video technology and disallowed it, leaving Tala’ea El Gaish frustrated.
Under Haitham Shaaban, El Gaish improved their tally to 9 points, placing them thirteenth in the standings. Arab Contractors, known as Al Mokawloon Al Arab SC, raised their total to 5 points, now sitting seventeenth under coach Mohamed Mekki.
Despite ongoing struggles, Arab Contractors stood by their coach after he offered to resign following the Pharco draw. The club’s decision reflects faith in Mekki’s leadership as they continue to chase their first win of the campaign. With three consecutive draws, El Mokawloon remain determined to turn hard-fought resistance into victories.
