Al Masry suspend player payments indefinitely after second straight defeat

Al Masry have suspended all outstanding player payments indefinitely after suffering a second consecutive defeat, with the club’s board also warning that any player who shows a lack of commitment could be dropped.

The decision was taken by the board in consultation with the first-team technical staff, led by manager Ahmed Sami. It follows a 2-1 defeat by Petrojet, a result which extended a difficult start for Al Masry in the league this season.

Al Masry had already lost their previous game 1-0 to Pyramids FC. The back-to-back defeats have left the team with six points from their opening four league matches.

Sami’s first match in charge came against Petrojet. He was appointed as the replacement for Emad El Nahhas and began his tenure with a defeat.
