Al Masry SC is moving fast in the transfer market as they close in on a deal to sign Algerian left-back Youcef Laouafi from CR Belouizdad.
The Port Said club is looking to strengthen key areas under the guidance of Tunisian coach Nabil Kouki, and Laouafi is now their top target for the left-back role.
A source at the club confirmed to Kooora that talks are ongoing with the Algerian defender and that progress has been made in finalizing personal terms. “Laouafi is the most likely to reinforce the left flank in the new season, with the recommendation of Tunisian coach Nabil Kouki,” the source said.
Negotiations between both clubs regarding the financial side of the deal are reportedly close to being settled. “Negotiations on financial matters between the two clubs are nearing completion,” the source added.
This move follows Al Masry’s recent signings of midfielder Omar Al-Saai from Al Ahly and striker Mondher Tamine from CS Constantine.
