Al Masry eyes top three as Zamalek faces mounting pressure in Egyptian Premier League

The 17th round of the Egyptian Premier League kicks off on Monday, March 3, with key fixtures that could reshape the standings.

Al Masry, currently fourth in the table, will look to break into the top three with a win over Modern Future FC, while Zamalek SC finds itself under pressure to maintain its position.

Al Masry’s push for the podium

Al Masry enters this round just two points behind third-placed Zamalek, with 27 points on the board.

A victory over Modern Future FC at home could propel them into the top three, applying further pressure on the White Knights.

Meanwhile, Zamalek, sitting on 29 points, must secure a result in their away fixture against ZED FC to prevent being overtaken.

José Peseiro’s men are in a precarious position and cannot afford to drop points, especially with Al Masry breathing down their necks.

ZED FC, currently in mid-table, will be eager to cause an upset and derail Zamalek’s pursuit of the top spots.

Al Ahly and Pyramids FC continue title race

The battle for the league summit remains fiercely contested between Al Ahly and Pyramids FC.

Despite a few missteps earlier in the season, defending champions Al Ahly have a chance to reclaim the top spot with a strong performance against El Geish.

Pyramids FC, on the other hand, continues to display impressive form and will host Ceramica Cleopatra, aiming to extend their dominance.

With both teams locked in a close race, any slip-up could prove decisive in the long run.
