Al Masry have urged the Professional Clubs League to take strong measures following offensive chants from Al Ahly fans during their recent league clash against Hiras El Hodoud.
The Port Said-based side sent an official complaint on Monday, calling on the league to investigate and punish those responsible for what they described as repeated verbal abuse aimed at their governorate.
Al Ahly secured a dominant 5-0 win on Sunday in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League, but the result was overshadowed by chants from the stands that sparked anger from Al Masry.
A club insider told Kooora that this is not the first time Port Said has been targeted, even in games where Al Masry are not involved.
The club is now waiting to see what steps the league will take after the round concludes.
Tensions may rise further as Al Masry are scheduled to face Al Ahly in a heated fifth-round encounter on Thursday.
