Al Masry defender Baher El Mohamady has confirmed suffering a fractured collarbone injury during his outfit CAF Confederation Cup clash against Zamalek.
El Mohamady was replaced in the 70th minute by Ahmed Ayman Mansour following the setback, as his outfit succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to their Egyptian counterpart in the third round of the group stage games at the weekend.
After the match, the rock-solid defender took to social media to confirm the horrific injury he sustained against Zamalek.
“Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you. Praise be to God in good times and bad. Fractured collarbone… Your prayers are needed.” He wrote on Instagram.
Baher El Mohamady joined Al Masry from Ismaily in the summer of 2023 on a 3-season contract for 20 million Egyptian pounds.
He renewed his contract with the Egyptian club for two seasons, extending until 2028 following an impressive spell at the club.
Zamalek leads the Confederation Cup group with 8 points, while Al Masry has dropped to second place with 7 points, the same as South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs. Zesco United of Zambia are bottom of the group with no points.
