The Guinean Omar Barry, the goalkeeper for Al-Markhiya, characterized the upcoming match against Ma’adhar in the 14th round of the Qatari League as the beginning of the challenges awaiting his team in the second half of the league.
During the press conference held this evening, Barry stated, “Significant challenges lie ahead for us in the second half of the league, and we must rise to meet them.
Therefore, we will fight to achieve our goals, foremost among them being to remain in the league and stay clear of the relegation zone in the standings.”
He added, “We have prepared ourselves well during the recent league break, and our preparations have not been limited to the upcoming match alone but encompass all matches.
However, we must approach matters step by step, so our focus now is on the upcoming match against Muaither, which we believe is the most crucial.”
The new Al-Markhiya goalkeeper expressed his delight at joining the team, noting that he moved more than a month and a half ago and found an exceptionally welcoming atmosphere within the club.
He said, “From the first day, I felt like I was at home.
I knew many of the players who played against me, and I received a warm welcome from the club’s president, management, players, and everyone involved.
I hope to be a real asset.”
