Al-Mareekh Port Said awarded 20% share of Ibrahim Adel’s Al Jazira transfer

Al-Mareekh Port Said have been ruled entitled to 20% of Ibrahim Adel’s transfer from Pyramids to Al Jazira by the Player Affairs Committee, the club’s official spokesman Ayman Eid has told FilGoal.com.

The committee’s decision means the club will receive 10,475,000 Egyptian pounds, with both Al-Mareekh Port Said and Pyramids informed of the ruling.

“The Player Affairs Committee confirmed that the club is entitled to 20% of the value of Ibrahim Adel’s transfer to Al Jazira,” Eid said.

“The value is 10,475,000 Egyptian pounds, and the committee informed both clubs of this decision.”

Adel moved from Pyramids to Al Jazira last summer before joining Danish club Nordsjaelland. He remained with Pyramids until the summer of 2025, when he completed the move to the United Arab Emirates, before subsequently transferring to Nordsjaelland.

Al-Mareekh had previously said it had sought information about the value of Adel’s move after receiving no response to official correspondence with Pyramids.

“We tried to ask about the value of the player’s transfer and discovered that it amounted to $1.25m, although Ibrahim Adel’s value deserved considerably more than that,” the club previously told FilGoal.com.

“We submitted the complaint after official communications and correspondence with Pyramids’ management went unanswered, following the passage of a year since the player’s transfer.”

Eid also said FIFA had responded in support of Al-Mareekh’s claim to a share of the relevant payment and that the club was preparing the formal requirements needed to pursue the money from Adel’s move to Al Jazira and his later transfer to Nordsjaelland.

“FIFA responded that Al-Mareekh is entitled to receive its share of the training compensation, and the official requirements are now being prepared to obtain the club’s entitlement from the player’s sale to Al Jazira and then his sale to Nordsjaelland,” he said.

Adel began his career in Al-Mareekh’s youth system before joining Al Assiouty, now known as Pyramids, in the summer of 2018. He was 17 at the time.
