Al-Ittihad turn to Saudi First Division League opposition before Al-Hilal derby

Al-Ittihad will prepare for their Roshn Saudi League classic against Al-Hilal with a friendly against Saudi First Division League side Al-Wehda.

The match will be played next Saturday at Al-Ittihad’s stadium in Jeddah, one week before the league meeting with Al-Hilal.

Al-Ittihad are due to visit Al-Hilal at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on 10 October, in the headline fixture of the eighth round of the Roshn Saudi League.

The club announced the friendly on 1 October, saying: “The first football team will play a friendly against Al-Wehda as part of preparations for the upcoming commitments.”

The Tigers will go into the derby aiming to claim top spot in the Saudi league. They are currently second with 17 points, one point behind leaders Al-Hilal.

Al-Ittihad are the only side yet to lose in the current Roshn Saudi League season. Al-Hilal, meanwhile, have suffered one defeat, a 2-0 loss against Neom.
