Al Ittihad Tripoli have confirmed the jersey number that will be worn by their latest high-profile acquisition, Thembinkosi Lorch, following his official unveiling.
The Libyan giants secured the signature of the South African attacker in a deal reportedly worth $1.5 million.
The club also announced the arrival of Lorch’s former teammate, Stephane Aziz Ki, although neither player had joined the rest of the squad at the time of the announcement.
On Thursday evening, Ittihad formally presented five new signings and disclosed the squad numbers they will wear as preparations intensify ahead of the new campaign.
In a statement, the club stressed that the latest additions form part of a broader long-term plan, noting that the recruits are “part of a comprehensive strategy to build a strong team that will continue to compete for championships and enhance its record of achievements.”
Lorch has been handed the No. 11 shirt — a number widely regarded as iconic in world football due to its association with several elite attackers over the years.
Reports also indicate that the 32-year-old, who previously featured for Mamelodi Sundowns, will earn approximately $75,000 per month after agreeing to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Tripoli-based club.
