Al-Ittihad stand alone as Roshn Saudi League’s only unbeaten side

Al-Ittihad are the only team still unbeaten in the Roshn Saudi League after the first seven rounds, and have emerged as serious contenders at the top of the table, just one point behind leaders Al-Hilal.

The Jeddah club have collected 17 points from seven matches, recording five wins and two draws. That run has kept their record free of defeat since the start of the season and placed them firmly in the early title race.

Al-Ittihad have scored 12 goals in their opening seven games and conceded six, giving them one of the competition’s strongest overall records while demonstrating a balance between attacking output and defensive resilience.

Al-Ittihad left on their own

The significance of Al-Ittihad’s unbeaten record increased after every other team to have avoided defeat during the opening rounds suffered its first loss, according to Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.

Al-Ittihad themselves ended Al-Nassr’s unbeaten start by inflicting the first defeat of the season on their rivals. Al-Hilal then lost for the first time against Neom, before Al-Kholood were beaten by Riyadh in the seventh round.

As a result, Al-Ittihad are now the sole unbeaten team in the Saudi league after seven matches, underlining the stability they have shown from the beginning of the campaign.

Their position also means they enter the international break in second place on 17 points, with Al-Hilal top on 18. Al-Ittihad are one point ahead of both Al-Nassr and Al-Qadsiah, who have each taken 16 points.

That narrow gap makes Al-Ittihad one of the leading challengers in the race for first place. Any slip by Al-Hilal, or another victory for Al-Ittihad, could alter the shape of the summit when the competition resumes.

Chance to prepare during the break

The international break gives Al-Ittihad’s coaching staff an opportunity to reorganise the squad and address areas requiring attention before competitive action returns in October, when the club face a crowded run of fixtures.

The main challenge will be preserving the consistency and momentum established during the first seven rounds. Continuing to collect points will be crucial if the team are to turn their impressive start into a sustained challenge for the league title.

After seven matches, Al-Ittihad remain the only side in the competition yet to taste defeat. With just one point separating them from Al-Hilal, they have a clear opportunity to maintain pressure on the leaders, provided they can retain the stability that has given them such a strong platform at the start of the season.
