Al-Ittihad of Alexandria continues to reshape its squad with smart moves in the transfer window, sealing the signature of Mohamed Metwally Canaria from Ceramica Cleopatra.
The deal, finalized under the guidance of head coach Ahmed Sami, adds quality to Al-Ittihad’s midfield. Sami knows the player well, having worked with Canaria previously at both Smouha and Ceramica Cleopatra.
Kooora reports that the Alexandria club made this acquisition at the coach’s request, aiming to create a more balanced and competitive squad for the coming season.
Canaria joins a growing list of new faces. Al-Ittihad has also added Nour Alaa, another player from Ceramica Cleopatra, while striker Mahmoud Ajib has arrived on loan from Dayrout. In a bid to strengthen their defensive unit, they secured Zamalek’s Ahmed Mahmoud on a loan deal as well.
The club isn’t done yet. They’re currently eyeing a powerful addition to their forward line and have already trialed three Nigerian players during pre-season in Alexandria. The coaching staff is evaluating options to find the right attacking piece before the new campaign kicks off.
