Al-Ittihad of Alexandria is pushing hard to reshape its squad ahead of the new Egyptian Premier League season, sealing yet another key signing with the loan acquisition of defender Mohamed Sami from Ceramica Cleopatra.
The 23-year-old centre-back joins on a season-long loan, with an option for Al-Ittihad to make the move permanent when the deal ends. Sami, who also had a loan spell with Dayrut, adds youthful energy to the club’s defensive line as they gear up for a competitive campaign.
This move is part of a broader recruitment drive by the Alexandria-based club. Al-Ittihad have already welcomed several new faces, including Mohamed Metwally Canary, as well as the loan trio of Nour Alaa, Mohamed Tony, and Mahmoud Ajeeb. Abdel Rahman Boudi also joined on a free transfer.
Veteran goalkeeper Mahmoud Abdel-Rahim Genish was signed following the end of his contract with Modern Sport, while right-back Ahmed Mahmoud arrived on loan from Zamalek.
The club’s ambitions have extended internationally too, snapping up Nigerian forward Saviour Isaac from Enugu Rangers on a contract running until 2027.
