Al-Ittihad make €20m move for Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat
Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have reportedly tabled a €20 million offer for Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat as they step up efforts to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season.
The club are said to be keen to recruit a player with top-level experience, identifying the Fenerbahçe midfielder as a key transfer target. Any deal, however, will depend on an agreement being reached with both the Turkish club and the player.
Saudi club intensify pursuit
Amrabat has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe and the Arab world, but reports suggest Al-Ittihad are leading the race for the Moroccan international.
The Saudi outfit are pushing to complete a move as they continue to reinforce their squad, with Amrabat’s experience at club and international level viewed as a valuable addition to their midfield.
Future remains open after permanent Fenerbahçe move
The 28-year-old initially joined Fenerbahçe from Fiorentina on loan on 31 August 2024, with the agreement including a clause that allowed the Turkish club to make the transfer permanent after the loan spell.
Having secured his long-term future with Fenerbahçe, Amrabat is now in a position to assess his next career move.
Reports indicate the Morocco international is open to a fresh challenge, with the Saudi Pro League emerging as a possible destination if Al-Ittihad can reach an agreement with both the player and his club.
