Al-Ittihad coach backs En-Nesyri

Al-Ittihad manager Jens Wissing has strongly defended Morocco international Youssef En-Nesyri after the striker came under criticism over his recent lack of goals.

The German coach spoke in support of the forward after Al-Ittihad secured a 3-2 victory over Al-Hazm in the Saudi Roshan League.

Despite concerns surrounding En-Nesyri’s scoring form, Wissing said the Moroccan remains an important part of his plans and continues to have his full confidence.

Wissing dismisses outside criticism

Wissing made it clear that criticism from the media and supporters would not influence his assessment of the striker.

“Youssef En-Nesyri is one of my best players. Since I arrived, he has been one of the best players, and I don’t care what the media or the public say about him.”

The German coach believes En-Nesyri’s contribution should not be judged solely by the number of goals he scores.

“He may not be successful in scoring, but he is putting in a high and excellent effort, and this is important to me.

Morocco forward retains coach’s backing

En-Nesyri has faced increased scrutiny after failing to maintain his previous scoring rate, but Wissing’s comments provide a clear indication that the striker remains trusted at Al-Ittihad.

The Moroccan forward’s work rate and overall contribution continue to earn the backing of his manager, even during a period when his goals have been harder to come by.

Al-Ittihad’s victory over Al-Hazm also provided a positive result for Wissing’s side as they continue their Saudi Roshan League campaign.

For En-Nesyri, the coach’s public support could provide an important boost as he looks to rediscover his scoring form and silence the criticism surrounding his performances.
