Al Ittihad have announced the signing of Libyan international, Ahmed Ben Ali in the recently concluded winter transfer window.
Ben Ali, born in Manchester, joins his native outfit on a free transfer and is expected to play a significant role in the ongoing 2025/26 football campaign.
The midfielder for the first time play in his home country of Libya, having had spells in England, where he featured for Manchester City and Manchester United youth levels before stints in Italy.
He moved from Manchester United’s youth team to Manchester City, but never featured for the senior team before departing the club.
Ben Ali went on loan to English side Rochdale before moving permanently to Brescia and beginning his long career in the land of pizza.
The midfielder has featured for several clubs in Italy, including Brescia, Palermo, Pescara and then Crotone.
He went to Pisa, and returned to Brescia again, before a stint at Bari, with his last spell in Italy coming at Virtus Entella.
The 33-year-old played for England’s under-17 and under-19 teams, but ultimately represented Libya at the international level.
Ben Ali played 12 matches for Virtus Entella this season, providing one assist but failing to score.
