Al Ittihad Alexandria submit bid for Mahmoud Emad despite ZED agreement

Al Ittihad Alexandria have submitted an offer to sign Mahmoud Emad from National Bank of Egypt, despite the player having previously reached a preliminary agreement with ZED, according to FilGoal.com.

The Egyptian club are preparing for the 2026-27 Egyptian Premier League season and have made Emad a target as they reshape their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Emad is currently contracted to National Bank of Egypt. He joined the club after leaving Pharco, before moving to Al Ittihad Alexandria on loan.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan with Al Ittihad Alexandria from National Bank of Egypt. During the campaign, he made 29 appearances for Al Ittihad Alexandria and National Bank of Egypt combined, scoring one goal.

FilGoal.com reports that Al Ittihad Alexandria have now made a formal approach for the player, even though Emad had already reached a preliminary agreement with ZED earlier.

The latest offer places Emad’s future under consideration as the clubs prepare for the start of the Egyptian Premier League. The report does not state whether the preliminary agreement with ZED has been cancelled or whether negotiations with National Bank of Egypt have reached an advanced stage.

Al Ittihad Alexandria will begin the 2026-27 Egyptian Premier League season against Zamalek on 21 August. The match will be played at Cairo International Stadium.

Emad’s previous loan spell means he is already familiar with Al Ittihad Alexandria, having featured for the club during the past season before returning to National Bank of Egypt. His performances included 29 appearances across the two teams and one goal.

The approach from Al Ittihad Alexandria comes as the club continue preparations for the new league campaign. Their opening fixture against Zamalek will be played on 21 August, with the match taking place at Cairo International Stadium.

The report was published by FilGoal.com on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, at 15:47 and was written by Amr Nabil.
