Al Ittihad Alexandria president denies Al Ahly and Pyramids contact for duo

Al Ittihad Alexandria president Mohamed Ahmed Salama says neither Al Ahly nor Pyramids has made contact about signing Momen Awad or Mostafa Ibrahim.

“There have been no official or informal contacts from officials at Al Ahly or Pyramids regarding the signing of Momen Awad and Mostafa Ibrahim,” Salama told FilGoal.com.

“If contact does take place, we will close the matter for now in order to protect the team’s stability.”

Salama said the January transfer window was still two months away and that discussing possible moves at this stage could affect the players’ focus.

“The transfer window is in January and there are still two months to go,” he added. “Talking about these matters now would distract the players. There is a time to discuss everything.”

Awad, who plays at right-back, has made five appearances since the start of the current season.

Ibrahim operates as a centre-back and has also featured in five matches this season.

Al Ittihad Alexandria are currently sixth in the Egyptian Premier League table with 10 points, five points behind leaders Pyramids.
