Al-Ittihad Alexandria is moving forward with a fresh vision after settling on Ahmed Sami as the man to guide the team next season.
This decision follows the departure of Magdi Abdel Atty, who stepped down and is now close to joining Modern Sport.
A trusted source close to the club revealed that Sami, the former Smouha head coach, met with Al-Ittihad officials in Cairo. During the meeting, both parties agreed on all the key points for him to take over the team.
Sami was chosen for his deep knowledge of the Egyptian Premier League and past success with Smouha. His coaching journey also includes stints with Ceramica Cleopatra, the Stars, and Tanta, credentials that appealed to the club’s leadership.
Meanwhile, the club’s Board of Directors confirmed they will remain in continuous session to manage the team’s affairs. This follows the acceptance of club president Mohamed Moselhi’s resignation, which he stood by firmly despite two weeks of internal pressure to stay.
Al-Ittihad is aiming for stability and fresh momentum with this new chapter.
