Al Hilal’s right-wing recruitment plan leaves Simone Inzaghi waiting

Al Hilal appear set to close the summer transfer window without fulfilling one of Simone Inzaghi’s most important requests, with the club’s attempt to strengthen the right wing stalled by a combination of complex financial and sporting obstacles.

The Italian manager had identified a new foreign right winger as a key part of his plans for improving Al Hilal’s attacking options. However, the obstacles surrounding the proposed deal have made an agreement increasingly difficult, leaving the signing looking more likely to become a delayed ambition than an immediate addition.

The situation represents a significant setback for Inzaghi, who wanted to complete the attacking shape of his team by adding greater variety in the final third. A right-sided player was expected to provide Al Hilal with more solutions in attack and help balance the work already carried out elsewhere in the squad.

Al Hilal have already strengthened on the opposite flank, completing the signing of Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville. That move addressed the need for additional quality on the left, but Inzaghi’s wider plan also included the arrival of a foreign player capable of operating on the right.

That second stage of the project has not yet been completed. Instead, the negotiations have run into difficulties that involve both the financial demands of the transfer and the technical considerations linked to the player the club wanted to recruit.

As a result, Al Hilal are now close to finishing their summer business without delivering the final attacking reinforcement sought by their manager. The expected right-wing signing has therefore become a dream postponed, at least until the winter transfer window.

For Inzaghi, the issue is not simply the absence of another squad player. The right-wing addition was intended to give his attack a broader range of options and to complete the balance of his forward line after Summerville’s arrival. Without that deal, the Italian’s preferred attacking plan remains incomplete.

Al Hilal’s summer recruitment has consequently produced progress on the left but frustration on the right. The club’s inability so far to overcome the financial and technical barriers means the move that was expected to complete Inzaghi’s attacking project may no longer take place during the current window.

The outcome leaves the coach facing the prospect of waiting until winter before the club can revisit the idea. Until then, Al Hilal may have to continue without the foreign right winger Inzaghi had hoped would provide additional attacking solutions in the final third.
