Al-Hilal step up transfer plans with move for Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele

Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have reportedly begun their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele after moving close to completing the signing of Dutch forward Crysencio Summerville.

The Saudi club is said to have made initial contact with the France international’s representatives as it looks to secure another high-profile addition during the summer transfer window.

Initial talks underway

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Al-Hilal have identified Dembele as their next major transfer target and have opened discussions with the player’s camp before approaching Paris Saint-Germain.

The report says the Saudi giants are seeking the player’s approval before entering formal negotiations with the French champions.

The move comes after reports that Al-Hilal are close to signing Summerville from West Ham United in a deal worth around €80 million, which would make the Dutch winger one of the most expensive signings in Saudi Pro League history.

PSG keen to keep star winger

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eager to retain Dembele and are working to extend his contract, which currently runs until 2028.

The French winger has established himself as one of the club’s key players, helping PSG win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles while producing consistently impressive performances.

Dembele also enjoyed a standout 2026 FIFA World Cup with France, featuring in all eight matches and contributing six goals and two assists during the tournament.

While Al-Hilal have begun laying the groundwork for a potential deal, any move is expected to depend on both the player’s willingness to leave Paris and PSG’s position regarding one of their most influential attackers.
