Al Hilal prepare Ollie Watkins for Al Ittihad Saudi Pro League clash

Al Hilal are working to make England international Ollie Watkins available for their Saudi Pro League meeting with Al Ittihad on 10 October.

The fixture will be played as part of the eighth round of the Saudi Pro League, with Al Hilal hoping their new forward can return to action after recovering from lower-back pain.

Watkins has resumed training with Al Hilal following his recovery and is being prepared for the busy schedule ahead. The club are also targeting his availability for their AFC Champions League match against Qatar’s Al Sadd on 13 October, three days after the Al Ittihad game.

The 10 October fixture is one of the most anticipated matches in the Saudi Pro League calendar and will come at a demanding stage of Al Hilal’s season.

Watkins joined Al Hilal at the start of the current season after leaving Aston Villa. The England forward has made four appearances for the club so far, scoring three goals.

Al Hilal’s medical and coaching staff are therefore working to ensure he is ready for both upcoming matches, beginning with the meeting against Al Ittihad.
