Al Hilal tactician Florent Ibenge is eyeing a positive result against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals first leg clash.
The Sudanese giants takes on the Egyptian powerhouse in a crunch clash on Tuesday at the Cairo International Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Congolese trainer acknowledged Al Ahly’s quality but insists his outfit will play to secure a positive result before the return clash in Mauritania.
“Al Ahly is the defending champion and the most prominent candidate, and the match against them will be very strong.”
“We are preparing well for the match, and our goal is to come out with a positive result. I asked our players to enjoy this match.”
Meanwhile, Ibenge has raised concerns about the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decision to move the second leg clash against Al Ahly from Libya to Mauritania.
“We are playing away from home, but our goal is undoubtedly to achieve a positive result in the second leg, which will be held a week later in Mauritania.”
“Al Ahly’s name doesn’t need any introduction, it’s the most prominent team in Africa, and I don’t understand why CAF refused to play the second leg in Libya instead of Mauritania,”
