Al Hilal are on the verge of signing highly rated Rennes forward Mohamed Meite in one of the standout deals of the winter window.
The Saudi giants have reached a preliminary agreement with the French club for the youngster, with the transfer fee reported at around €30 million.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal have also agreed personal terms with Meite, who was keen to join the ambitious project led by coach Simone Inzaghi. The young attacker is expected to play an important role in the team’s frontline, adding fresh energy and depth to an already star-studded squad.
Earlier this season, several Premier League clubs had shown strong interest in Meite, underlining his reputation as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting emerging forwards.
Barring any late surprises, the move should be completed in the coming days once Meite passes his medical and the final paperwork is signed.
If finalized, the signing would further signal Al Hilal’s determination to build both for immediate success and the long term by blending big-name stars with top young European talent.
