Al Hilal begin Saudi Pro League campaign as Al Ahly play second friendly
Al Hilal will begin their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign against Al-Faisaly on Friday, while Al Ahly continue their pre-season preparations with a second friendly in Spain.
The Saudi top flight gets under way with three matches scheduled for the day. Al Hilal will face Al-Faisaly, while Al-Ettifaq meet Al-Riyadh and Neom play Al-Fayha.
The opening fixtures come alongside the start of the Turkish league season, with Galatasaray hosting Corum. The match is one of the headline games on a busy Friday schedule that also includes two friendlies involving Egyptian clubs.
Al Ahly will play Europa FC in their second friendly during their training camp in Spain. Al Masry, meanwhile, will take on Kawkab Marrakech in another pre-season fixture.
Al Ahly manager Hussein Ammouta has decided that the club’s matches during the Spain camp will not be broadcast on television. The only exception will be the friendly against Barcelona.
Full details of Friday’s matches, including the channels showing them, are available through the relevant fixture guide.
Saudi Pro League
Al-Ettifaq will play Al-Riyadh at 21:00, with the match being shown on Thmanyah channels.
Al Hilal’s meeting with Al-Faisaly will also begin at 21:00 and will be broadcast by Thmanyah.
Earlier in the evening, Neom will face Al-Fayha at 19:50. That match will also be available on Thmanyah.
The Al Hilal fixture marks the club’s first match of the new Saudi Pro League season, with the side beginning their campaign against Al-Faisaly.
Turkish league
Galatasaray will host Corum at 21:30 as the Turkish league season begins.
The fixture is the only Turkish league match listed in Friday’s schedule.
Friendly matches
Al Ahly will meet Europa FC at 18:45 in Spain, with the match forming the club’s second friendly of their training camp.
Al Masry’s friendly against Kawkab Marrakech is scheduled for 20:00.
Neither of those two matches has a television broadcast listed. Al Ahly’s policy during the Spain camp means their friendlies will not be televised, apart from the meeting with Barcelona.
Friday’s full programme therefore combines the opening fixtures of the Saudi Pro League and Turkish league with pre-season matches involving Al Ahly and Al Masry.
