Al Fateh SC linked with Al Ahly goalkeeper El Shenawy but talks remain distant

Al Fateh SC has found its name in the news after speculation linked the Saudi club with a move for Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy.

The news quickly spread among fans, raising questions about whether the veteran shot-stopper could make a surprise switch.

A source within Al Ahly’s football management clarified to Kooora that the club has not received any form of offer, official or informal, from Al Fateh SC for El Shenawy. The source stressed that the captain has not informed the club about any outside interest and highlighted how important he remains to the squad, not just between the posts but also in guiding younger players.

Adding a twist, a source close to El Shenawy noted that a mediator reached out in the final week of August. However, those contacts did not develop into negotiations, leaving the matter as little more than early chatter.

For now, Al Ahly is fully focused on their Egyptian Premier League campaign, with Enppi awaiting them on Sunday in round six.
