Al-Fateh linked with Togo-Ghanaian defender Kennedy Boateng

Togo-Ghanaian centre-back Kennedy Boateng, currently without a club after leaving FC Dinamo, is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh.

Boateng, 29, became a free agent on 1 July after ending his time with FC Dinamo, whom he joined from Austrian side Austria Lustenau in July 2024. The defender’s possible move to Saudi Arabia is currently being treated as a rumour, with no transfer agreement confirmed.

The 1.91m right-footed centre-back has spent much of his career in Austria, Portugal and Romania. He has made 53 appearances in Romania’s SuperLiga, scoring six goals and providing one assist, while also recording 52 Liga Portugal appearances and 41 Bundesliga appearances.

Boateng previously won the Austrian second tier twice, with SV Ried in 2019-20 and LASK in 2016-17. He began his European career after joining LASK from Ghanaian club WAFA SC in August 2016.

His current market valuation is €1.2m, although no transfer fee has been established given his status as a free agent. Al-Fateh compete in the Saudi Pro League, but the club have not confirmed an approach or agreement for the defender.

Boateng remains without a club as of 2 August 2026, with Al-Fateh the latest side linked with his next move.
