Al-Ettifaq secure Jordan Larsson as Swedish-Cape Verde winger leaves Copenhagen
Swedish-Cape Verdean winger Jordan Larsson has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq from Copenhagen for €1.29m.
The 29-year-old has signed a contract with Al-Ettifaq running until 30 June 2029, ending his spell with the Danish club after two seasons. Larsson operates on the right wing and is left-footed.
Larsson made one Superliga appearance for Copenhagen during the 2026-27 campaign, registering one assist in 69 minutes. He also featured once in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League, playing two minutes.
His move to Al-Ettifaq comes after a second spell with Copenhagen, where he won the Danish league title and Danish Cup in both 2022-23 and 2024-25. He initially joined the club on loan from Schalke 04 in January 2023 before completing a permanent transfer in July of the same year for €2m.
Larsson had moved to Schalke from Spartak Moscow on a free transfer in August 2022. During his time in Russia, he won the Russian Cup in 2022, while his earlier career included spells with AIK, Norrkoping, NEC Nijmegen and Helsingborgs IF.
Born in Rotterdam on 20 June 1997, Larsson began his youth career with Barcelona before moving to Swedish club Hogaborg. He later progressed into senior football with Hogaborgs BK and Helsingborgs IF.
The transfer takes Larsson into the Saudi Pro League after his time in Denmark’s Superliga. His current market value is €3.5m, while the fee agreed between Copenhagen and Al-Ettifaq was €1.29m.
Larsson has now completed his move to Al-Ettifaq and will remain under contract with the Saudi club until 2029.
