Al Ahly remains calm in the face of growing speculation surrounding the legal challenge from Pyramids FC over the Egyptian Premier League title race.
The club says it has received no official word from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the match dispute or any case delays.
Pyramids FC had filed an urgent complaint seeking to strip Al Ahly of three points and halt their title celebration, claiming the Red Devils withdrew from the league game against Zamalek scheduled for March 11. However, CAS dismissed the urgent request and transferred the matter to regular proceedings.
A senior Al Ahly source dismissed reports that the case has been indefinitely postponed. “We have not received anything official about the case since we responded to the demands of the plaintiff, Pyramids,” the source told Kooora.
The club insists it did not withdraw, noting its request for foreign referees, under league rules, was ignored. Al Ahly also argues that Pyramids missed the one-month deadline to file the case after a March 30 ruling.
