Al Ahly targets global partnerships as record budget generates new era of growth
Recent reports about Egyptian club Al Ahly signing a lucrative sponsorship contract with a major Qatari airline have stirred excitement among fans.
However, a senior source within Al Ahly’s football company denied these claims on Wednesday, confirming that no deal has been signed and the rumors are unfounded. The source explained, “Al Ahly currently has four offers for team sponsorship, but there is no final agreement.”
The club’s current sponsorship deal is set to expire at the end of this season, with negotiations ongoing for new partners, possibly with contracts valued in dollars to better support player salaries. Al Ahly’s executive director, Saad Shalaby, highlighted the club’s strong financial position: “The club’s budget is huge, with 1.3 billion EGP allocated for the football team alone. We have paid all our dues on properties and land, so there is no debt.”
Shalaby invited club members to participate in the upcoming elections, noting, “Al Ahly’s motto is always ‘Al Ahly above all,’ and the club belongs to everyone.” With a record budget of 8.5 billion EGP and robust leadership, Al Ahly continues to chart a stable, ambitious future in both business and sport.
