Al Ahly have finalized the future of rising star Bilal Atiya, agreeing a deal for the young winger to join Spanish club Racing Santander and begin a new European adventure.
The move is part of the Egyptian giants’ wider plan to develop their brightest prospects by giving them challenging experiences abroad.
According to Egyptian outlet “FilGoal,” the agreement will see Atiya head to Racing Santander on an 18‑month loan. The deal includes options for Al Ahly to either extend the loan or complete a permanent transfer later, depending on the player’s market value and performances in Spain.
Racing Santander are enjoying an impressive campaign in the Spanish second division, currently sitting second with 44 points, just one point behind the leaders in a tight promotion race to La Liga.
Atiya, 18, is considered one of the most exciting young players in Egyptian football. Some German media have even nicknamed him “Little Salah” because of his dribbling flair and speed on the flanks.
Al Ahly hope this spell in Spain will help him rediscover his best form and return stronger, or secure a long‑term future in Europe. His transfer follows the club’s decision earlier this winter to approve young defender Hamza Abdel Karim’s move to Barcelona.
