Al Ahly have moved quickly to secure the long-term future of influential midfielder Emam Ashour, confirming plans to extend his contract as part of a broader squad renewal strategy.
Sporting director Mohamed Youssef revealed through the club’s official Facebook page that Ashour is one of several players set for contract extensions, aligning with the technical vision laid out by the club’s head coach and football planning committee.
“Emam Ashour is among the players whose contracts will be extended,” Youssef said.
The club aims to lock in key talents as they prepare for the next phase of domestic and continental competition. Ashour’s current deal already runs through the summer of 2028, but Al Ahly are looking to reward his contributions and keep their midfield core intact.
Other player renewals are expected to follow soon, with names to be announced in the coming weeks.
Reports had earlier suggested Ashour was seeking a top-tier salary similar to new Moroccan signings Achraf Bencharki and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet
