Mohamed Sherif to join Al Masry

Al Ahly striker Mohamed Sherif is close to ending his spell with the Egyptian giants after reaching an agreement on personal terms with Al Masry ahead of a possible move during the current summer transfer window.

The forward has been informed that he is no longer part of the technical staff’s plans for the upcoming season, opening the door for his departure from the Cairo-based club in search of a new challenge.

According to reports, Sherif has reached an agreement with Al Masry officials regarding the details of his proposed contract after expressing his willingness to join the Port Said-based club and begin a new chapter in his career.

The negotiations between the player and Al Masry have reportedly progressed positively, with the Egyptian striker showing no objection to the move. However, the transfer is yet to be officially completed as some final issues between Sherif and Al Ahly must first be resolved.

The remaining obstacle is understood to be related to Sherif’s outstanding financial dues with Al Ahly. The striker wants assurances that all his contractual rights will be settled before agreeing to terminate his relationship with the Red Castle and complete his move to Al Masry.

Talks between Sherif and Al Ahly management are currently focused on finding a suitable solution for the payment of his remaining entitlements, with both parties looking to reach an agreement that allows the transfer process to move forward.

Sherif’s potential departure would bring an end to a successful period with Al Ahly, where he played an important role in the club’s domestic and continental campaigns. The striker became one of the team’s most reliable goalscorers during his time at the club and contributed to several major successes.

The 30-year-old forward enjoyed a particularly impressive spell with Al Ahly, helping the club secure multiple trophies, including Egyptian Premier League titles and CAF Champions League triumphs.

Despite his previous contributions, competition for places and changes within the squad have limited his opportunities, leading to the possibility of a fresh start away from Cairo.

Al Masry are now waiting for the resolution of the financial discussions between Sherif and Al Ahly before completing the final procedures of the deal.

If completed, the move would see Sherif remain in Egyptian football while joining a club with ambitions of competing strongly in domestic competitions and challenging the traditional giants.

For now, the striker’s immediate future depends on reaching a final agreement with Al Ahly over his outstanding dues, with all parties hopeful that the matter can be resolved soon.
