Mahmoud Hassan "Trezeguet" sets sights on AFCON glory: "we have one goal"

Al Ahly has chosen support over punishment after Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet made a silence gesture during the 1-1 draw with Enppi in the Egyptian Premier League.

Instead of imposing a fine, the club’s football director, Walid Salah El-Din, held a personal meeting with the winger to calm the situation.

The game, played last Sunday at the Arab Contractors Stadium, saw emotions run high as Al Ahly dropped points in the sixth round of the league. After the match, talk on social media centered on Trezeguet’s gesture, but the club opted for understanding rather than discipline.

An Al Ahly source told Kooora that Salah reminded Trezeguet to ignore distractions and focus on his football. “Walid Salah warned Trezeguet that the penalty would be doubled if he repeated the same behavior or did anything off the pitch.”

“The football director asked the player to ease the pressure he is putting on his shoulders and not to occupy himself with useless matters.”

Trezeguet promised to give everything for the team as Al Ahly prepares to face Ceramica Cleopatra next Friday.
