After nearly three weeks off the pitch, Al Ahly are set to return to action next Sunday at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium to begin a fresh training phase ahead of the new season.
The break came after their early exit from the Club World Cup in the United States.
Led by Spanish coach Jose Riveiro, the Red Devils will kick off with full medical checks and physical assessments. The squad will then undergo three days of intense physical training, wrapping up on July 18.
From there, Al Ahly will head to Tabarka, Tunisia, for an 11-day closed camp to sharpen their form. Two key friendlies are already lined up, against Algeria’s ES Constantine on July 21 and Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel on July 28. Talks are ongoing to schedule another match for July 25, while Esperance prepares separately for their own friendly on July 24.
Once the Tunisia camp ends, Riveiro plans to give the players a 48-hour break before returning to Cairo to fine-tune preparations for the Egyptian Premier League season, which begins on August 8.
