Al Ahly are on the verge of finalizing a major transfer deal that could see striker Wessam Abu Ali leave the Cairo giants for Qatari side Al Rayyan this summer.
The Egyptian club stands to receive a significant cash offer of $9 million, with only a few final details left to be ironed out. Although Abu Ali is under contract with Al Ahly until 2028, the potential deal is now entering its final stages.
“One of the Qatari players’ agents has been in Egypt for the past few hours and has intensified his negotiations with Al Ahly officials,” an Al Ahly source told Kooora.
“Al Rayyan’s offer has increased to $9 million, to be paid in cash, while negotiations continue on some terms and privileges related to the player’s goals, tournament appearances, and participation rates.”
“Some minor touches separate Wessam Abu Ali’s transfer to the ranks of Al Rayyan of Qatar.”
“Al Rayyan has already agreed with the player and his agent on all personal terms. Wessam will receive a salary of up to $12 million over three years.”
