Al Ahly will only agree to take part in the next edition of the Egyptian Super Cup if the club receives $500,000 for participating and is paid a further $350,000 owed from the previous tournament.

The club has settled its position should it receive a formal invitation to enter the competition. However, the Egyptian Football Association has not yet contacted the clubs expected to take part, according to information obtained by FilGoal.com.

The next Egyptian Super Cup is expected to be held in the United Arab Emirates during the first week of November, with four teams involved.

Zamalek will qualify as Egyptian Premier League champions, while Pyramids will represent the Egypt Cup as its winners. Al Masry will take part as the Egyptian League Cup holders.

Al Ahly are expected to be invited through the competition’s “golden card”, with the club’s participation dependent on agreement over the financial terms.

The Cairo club are the holders of the Egyptian Super Cup after winning last season’s tournament in the United Arab Emirates. They beat Zamalek 2-0 in the final in Abu Dhabi.

Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa previously rejected suggestions that the club had decided against entering the competition.

“Everything being said about Al Ahly refusing to play in the Egyptian Super Cup is not true. We have not discussed the matter at all so far,” Gomaa told FilGoal.com.

The Egyptian Football Association has yet to formally approach the clubs due to participate, meaning Al Ahly’s position has been established ahead of any official invitation.
