Injury blow for Al-Ahly as Egyptian international Emam Ashour ruled out of Club World Cup

Al Ahly has firmly dismissed speculation over the future of midfielder Emam Ashour, making it clear that the player remains a vital part of their plans.

Ashour, 27, joined Al Ahly in the summer of 2023 after a brief stint in Denmark with FC Midtjylland and a notable spell at rivals Zamalek. Since his arrival, he’s become one of the club’s key players, winning over fans with his energy and vision.

Despite growing interest from other clubs, Al Ahly remains unmoved. A club insider confirmed to Kooora that there’s no intention to let him go anytime soon.

“Emam Ashour is not for sale under any circumstances,” the source said.

“The player’s contract with us is valid for three years, and we will never give him up, nor will we discuss any offers regarding him.”

Al Ahly reportedly took the initiative to improve and extend his contract without any pressure from the player.

“Emam Ashour is currently the best player in Egypt, and therefore his contract should have been amended to reflect what he offers the Red Devils.

“Emam Ashour is a committed player, and he is well aware that Al-Ahly will not let him go.”
